I have been running a landscaping and grounds maintenance company since 1998 (Lincolnshire Landscapes) and during that time have planted up many gardens developing my own style of planting. My passion has focused on the new wave planting style which is very much reliant on a natural look to the garden border and is as much about the movement and structure of plants as it is their colour. This style is very much helped by the use of ornamental grasses alongside flowering perennials and these types of plants are the main core of the nursery stock.
All of the perennials and grasses are grown on our nursery in Lincolnshire on an open site so we know they are ready for everything the British weather can throw at them!
Mill Farm Nursery features 2 large borders for people to see our plants growing together in their maturity.
The first border, which actually runs alongside our retail plant stands, is a mixture of our favourite perennials and grasses. It uses 3 steps of height from front of border plants (beginning at 1 foot high) all the way through the mid height range up to the giant 8-10 foot plants at the back.
The second border is mainly made up of grasses and is a showcase of some of our best Miscanthus cultivars interplanted with Molinia and Calamagrostis, with flowering perennials filling the small spaces that are left.
You can either visit the nursery to wander around in a lovely countryside setting (recommended) or request a stocklist and use our mail order service.
